About Mackenzie Barrett
Kenzie is a Mental Health Counseling Intern who values creating a compassionate, empowering space grounded in trust, honesty, and collaboration. She believes clients are the experts of their own lives and approaches counseling from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective that supports clients in building confidence, developing practical tools, and working toward meaningful goals.
Kenzie has experience working with children in an autism center, where she supported emotional regulation, social skills, and coping strategies. She has also worked in school settings as a prevention education specialist, providing body safety education and supporting children who have experienced physical or sexual abuse. In addition, Kenzie has worked in a residential setting with adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges, further shaping her trauma-informed and adaptable approach to care.
Kenzie is interested in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults, and is committed to meeting each client where they are while collaboratively supporting growth and resilience.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sports Psychology from Grace College and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University Columbus.
