About Lynn Downs
Lynn earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in December 2025 and is now working toward her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University.
She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Lynn is especially interested in supporting women who have experienced intimate partner violence, as well as people diagnosed with ASD and their families.
She uses different therapy approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy, to help clients reach their goals. Lynn believes her clients are experts on their own lives, and she sees her role as walking with them, offering support, practical tools, and guidance as they work toward growth, resilience, and a more meaningful life. She values compassion, trust, and resilience in the healing process.
Outside of work, Lynn enjoys reading and spending time at the beach with her family, especially her seven grandchildren.
