Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family, taking that first step often comes with uncertainty. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy isn’t about having the perfect explanation—it’s about creating space to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, build practical skills, and move toward the life you want.
Hi, I’m Dr. Liz Schallack (she/her), a PsyD and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, parenting challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns. Whether I’m supporting a young child through play and creativity, helping a teen navigate growing independence, or working with an adult facing stress, burnout, postpartum changes, or major life transitions, my goal is always the same—to create a space where people feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens through connection and a partnership. You bring your experiences, strengths, values, and goals, and I bring clinical expertise, curiosity, and a compassionate perspective.
Together, we’ll work to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface while building practical tools that create lasting change. I believe that meaningful therapy starts by meeting people exactly where they are—not where they think they “should” be.
I enjoy helping clients understand not only what they’re experiencing, but why. We often explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences to better understand the patterns that continue to shape everyday life. When we understand those patterns, we can begin making intentional changes that feel authentic and sustainable.
My clinical work spans parent-child relationships, trauma, anxiety, mood disorders—including bipolar disorder—ADHD, stress management, life transitions, women’s issues, perinatal and postpartum mental health, and interpersonal relationships. I enjoy supporting children and families through emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, school concerns, and parenting struggles, while also working with adults navigating anxiety, identity shifts, burnout, relationship concerns, major life transitions, and the emotional complexities that often accompany different seasons of life.
Adults often come to therapy believing they should already have the answers. Whether you’re balancing work, relationships, parenting, caregiving, or simply trying to keep everything together, therapy offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and approach life’s challenges with greater clarity and self-compassion. My role isn’t to tell you who to be—it’s to help you better understand yourself so you can make decisions that align with your values and the life you want to create.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and individualized because no two people heal in exactly the same way. I draw from person-centered therapy, play therapy, expressive arts, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused approaches. Whether we’re working on emotional regulation, improving communication, strengthening relationships, or processing difficult experiences, I strive to provide practical strategies that clients can carry with them long after therapy ends.
If you’ve spent time working with me, you’ve probably heard me talk about what I call my “Big Four”—boundaries, balance, sleep, and hope. These aren’t simply concepts I mention in passing; they’re often the foundation for emotional wellness and sustainable change. Whether you’re parenting a young child, navigating postpartum changes, managing anxiety, rebuilding after trauma, or trying to find your footing during a difficult season, these four areas often become powerful anchors for healing.
My style is warm, nurturing, relational, authentic, while also grounded in evidence-based practice. I believe therapy is about more than reducing symptoms; it’s about building healthier relationships with yourself and the people around you while creating a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, therapy is an investment in growth. Wherever you find yourself today, we’ll start there. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, navigate life’s challenges, and create practical tools that support lasting change. I’d welcome the opportunity to partner with you as you move toward greater balance, resilience, and hope.
