Starting therapy requires a great degree of courage, it can feel like a daunting task, an additional layer of difficulty on top of what already may seem insurmountable. I believe therapy should be a supportive space for authenticity, grace, safety and empowerment. The therapeutic relationship should be a collaborative effort, the identifying, building, and enhancing of personal strengths and goals enveloped in a manageable, supportive, respectful dynamic. I am committed to bringing my experience, strength, knowledge and curiosity to the process along side the genuine goal of meeting you where you are. Change occurs when desire meets opportunity, and meaningful shifts often happen when we feel truly seen and heard. I am a licensed social worker who welcomes adults looking for a safe place to heal from anxiety, depression, burnout, addiction, mood disorders and relationship difficulties that often stem from life’s biggest transitions. I blend practical tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that allows for flexibility and awareness while identifying and taking deliberate steps towards change. DBT, Person – centered therapy and Gestalt therapy are frequent foci as well.
I received my undergraduate degree in Clinical Sociology from IUP and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and have 17 years of experience working with individuals in various stages of change. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey of healing.
