I work primarily with adults who are navigating trauma, substance use and addiction, relationship concerns, women’s issues, life transitions, and the many challenges that can come with trying to understand who you are and what you want from your life. I also provide an open, affirming space for individuals exploring polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, BDSM, and alternative relationship dynamics. In addition, I am a Certified Psychedelic Therapy Practitioner and have years of experience in providing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).
Since receiving my Master in Social Work degree from Fordham University in 2005, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, co-occurring disorders programs, and private practice. This range of experience over the last 20+ years has taught me that there is no single approach to therapy that works for everyone. I believe in providing personalized, compassionate, and innovative care that is individualized to the person sitting in front of me.
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in evidence-based practices as well as holistic care. I draw from Relational Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or “tapping”), mindfulness, and other holistic therapeutic approaches depending on your needs and goals. We may explore patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences while also developing practical tools to help you make changes in your everyday life.
I have a particular passion for working with women who have spent much of their lives taking care of others, meeting expectations, or filling the roles they thought they were supposed to fill. Therapy can be an opportunity to turn some of that attention inward—to explore your identity, strengthen boundaries, reconnect with yourself, and figure out what you want the next chapter of your life to look like.
When it comes to substance use and addiction, I believe in meeting people where they are. You do not need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Whether you are considering making a change, working toward recovery, maintaining sobriety, or simply questioning your current relationship with substances, we can have honest conversations about what is and isn’t working for you—without shame or judgment.
I am also very passionate about new and innovative therapeutic modalities, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (“KAP”). KAP offers a unique opportunity for therapeutic exploration and meaningful, deeper, lasting change. This modality combines the use of psychotherapy with medication enhancement that can offer deeper connection and processing – all done with careful attention to preparation, integration and creating a safe, intentional therapeutic setting and process. I believe that these experiences can open the door to new perspectives and deeper self-understanding when approached thoughtfully and in conjunction with psychotherapeutic support.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself in the therapy room. My style is warm, conversational, curious, and direct, and I believe humor has a place in therapy too. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life or just nod my head. I’m here to help you understand yourself more deeply, become curious about and recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and support you in making choices that feel authentic to who you are now.
