About Karl Johnson

Karl Johnson is a Counselor-in-Training currently completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. His therapeutic home is Narrative Therapy, while also drawing from CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to support each client’s unique needs and goals.
With professional backgrounds in music, military leadership, and ecclesiastical service, Karl has a particular interest in helping individuals experiencing relational disconnection, faith transitions, career uncertainty, and other major life changes. He is also committed to providing an affirming, compassionate space for LGBTQ+ clients and values working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Karl enjoys using the Enneagram as a tool for greater self-awareness and understanding relational patterns.
Outside of counseling, Karl enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, portrait photography, and playing ball with his Boston terriers.
