About Karen Greenwood
I obtained my MSW in 1998 but have probably been a social worker since I could talk. I provided inpatient clinical support both as a medical social worker and as a psychiatric social worker for many years earlier in my career. I have also had the honor of working as an RN in hospice and palliative care for both adults and children which compelled me to return to clinical work in the hopes of providing counsel and support to families facing medical decisions, medical trauma, anticipatory grief and parenting struggles among many of the complicated feelings we face while caring for loved ones, older and younger. I have experience walking beside individuals as they navigate transitions and life review at all stages of the life cycle and respect the importance of providing safe spaces for people to engage freely and honestly, feeling respected and held. I am committed to providing compassionate patient centred care holistically. I can work with individuals to gather helpful strategies and tools to aid emotional regulation and improve personal growth and understanding, wherever they want to start.
