Therapy should be a place where you can be yourself—exactly as you are.
For children and teens, finding the right therapist can make all the difference. I strive to create a therapy space that feels welcoming, comfortable, creative, and judgment-free. A place where young people can talk, explore, laugh, be curious, and work through difficult things without feeling like they have to fit into a particular mold.
I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and other challenges that can make everyday life feel harder than it should. I have a particular passion for working with young people who are navigating neurodivergence, identity development, anxiety, depression, trauma, and big or overwhelming emotions.
My approach is collaborative and individualized. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), adapting the way I work to each person’s age, developmental level, communication style, strengths, and goals. I believe therapy should fit the person, not the other way around.
I am an eccentric and colorful person, and I bring that same authenticity and creativity into my work. I believe people deserve a therapist who is genuinely interested in who they are, not just the problems that brought them to therapy. I use warmth, humor, curiosity, creativity, and a healthy dose of weirdness to help clients feel comfortable being themselves.
I also believe that behavior is communication. When a child is struggling with big emotions, withdrawing, acting out, having difficulty at school, navigating friendships, or experiencing changes at home, I want to understand what is underneath the behavior rather than simply trying to make the behavior disappear. I take a person-in-environment approach, considering the relationships, family dynamics, school experiences, identities, environments, and experiences that shape how a young person understands the world.
For parents and caregivers, I see therapy as a collaborative process. My goal is not simply to give a child a place to talk, but to help them develop practical tools for understanding emotions, building confidence, navigating relationships, communicating their needs, and handling life’s challenges.
Therapy doesn’t have to be boring, intimidating, or one-size-fits-all. Sometimes healing looks like learning a new coping skill. Sometimes it looks like processing something difficult. Sometimes it means understanding why a particular situation feels so overwhelming. And sometimes it means finding a therapist who gets that being different isn’t something that needs to be “fixed.”
My hope is to create a space where children, teens, and families feel seen, understood, accepted, and supported, and where meaningful change can happen while still allowing them to be exactly who they are.
