Hi, I’m Earl Tarjeft II—and I believe therapy should feel like a safe, real conversation, not a lecture. Life throws curveballs: anxiety, ADHD, family stress, grief, trauma, depression, or just plain burnout. My job is to help you face those challenges with compassion, creativity, and—yes—even a little humor.
I work with children, teens, and adults across a wide spectrum of needs:
Kids & Teens. I help kids with ADHD, behavior struggles, autism spectrum concerns, or school stress build confidence and executive functioning skills. Teens navigating identity, relationships, or peer pressure find support in a space where they can actually be heard.
Adults. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, mood swings, chronic pain, or life transitions, therapy can help you untangle the stress and reconnect with yourself.
Couples/Families. Blended families, adoptive/foster care dynamics, co-parenting challenges, and marital struggles don’t have to be navigated alone. I work with parents and couples to restore communication, balance, and a sense of hope.
My specialties also include:
Trauma & PTSD support for survivors, veterans, service members, and first responders
Addiction and relapse prevention
Support for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities with culturally responsive, identity-affirming care
Guidance for men’s issues, separation/divorce, infidelity, and complex relationships—including polyamory or non-monogamous dynamics
Grief and loss counseling, chronic illness support, and navigating major life adjustments
Helping neurodivergent and neurodiverse individuals thrive with tailored approaches
Therapeutically, I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, and even Geek/interest-based approaches (yes, your fandom can be part of your healing). Each session is shaped around you—your goals, your strengths, and your story.
What makes therapy with me different?
Authenticity. I’ll show up as myself, not a textbook. You’ll never get jargon without meaning or judgment without compassion.
Collaboration. You know yourself better than anyone—I’m here to listen, guide, and walk alongside you.
Compassion & Humor. Therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. Sometimes laughing at life’s absurdities is part of the healing.
Practical Tools. We’ll find strategies you can actually use in your day-to-day life.
I’m especially passionate about working with people who feel “stuck”—whether in relationships, careers, or personal growth. I believe healing is possible when we create a space safe enough for honesty and brave enough for change.
At Ellie Mental Health in Novi and West Bloomfield, we want therapy to feel approachable, affirming, and yes—sometimes even a little fun. If you’re looking for a therapist who can balance warmth with realness, strategies with humor, and compassion with boldness, I’d love to meet you.
Because you don’t have to face it all alone—and you might be surprised how good it feels to finally breathe again.
Ready to feel lighter? Let’s get you matched with therapy that actually fits your life. Schedule today and let’s take the first step together.
