About Claudia Devlin
I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University and a master’s in mental health counseling from Southern Methodist University.
I have experience working mostly with adults on the topics of grief, trauma, managing chronic medical illnesses, caregiving, burnout, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, and depression.
I have personal experience managing medical issues, caregiving, and grief, so I understand the ways these topics can overlap with every aspect of life and put extra stress on personal identity and the way we view the world.
I would describe my approach as practical, thoughtful, and creative. I go at a pace that works for you, while also challenging you and encouraging you to see areas that may have been overlooked. I believe no accomplishment is too small in life, especially when doing the difficult work of building yourself.
In session, I use talk therapy, where I focus in on what is most important to you in life, the ways you have been trying to achieve this, the tools that are already in your toolbox, and what tools we can add that will help you.
Additionally, I utilize brainspotting, which is a mind and body technique used to help individuals dealing with stress and/or trauma by using eye movements. I also incorporate other calming techniques for the nervous system.
