Hi, I’m Chelsea Stone—a therapist who believes that kindness, honesty, and humor can be some of the best therapy tools around. I know that life doesn’t always make sense (and that sometimes it’s just plain hard), but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we’ll unpack what’s been weighing on you and help you find your footing again.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families, helping them navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and life’s ups and downs. My goal is to make therapy a space where you feel heard, supported, and safe to be yourself—even when that self feels tired, overwhelmed, or unsure.
Therapy with me is collaborative and conversational. We’ll laugh when it’s needed, dig deep when it’s time, and find strategies that actually work for your life.
💬 How I Work
My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, which means I meet you where you are—no judgment, no pressure, just understanding and collaboration. From there, we’ll use evidence-based practices to help you develop tools and confidence for lasting change.
Some of the methods I draw from include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Understanding how your thoughts impact your emotions and actions.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Building flexibility and focusing on what truly matters to you.
Play Therapy – For younger clients, using creativity to express emotions and develop coping skills.
Narrative Therapy – Reframing your story in a way that highlights your strength and resilience.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) – For OCD and anxiety, facing fears in safe, gradual steps.
Motivational Interviewing – Helping you tap into your own motivation for growth.
No two sessions are ever the same because no two people are. Some days, therapy might look like processing a tough week; other times, it’s learning practical ways to manage emotions, stress, or relationships. My role is to provide guidance, validation, and a gentle push when needed—all with humor and humanity.

I believe therapy should be empowering and accessible, not clinical or intimidating. Whether you’re coming in for your first session or returning to therapy after some time away, I want you to feel at ease and genuinely understood.
💡 My Background
I’m a proud Michigan State University Spartan (Go Green!), where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology before completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Oakland University. My experience includes providing therapy for children, teens, and adults in both private practice and community settings, as well as volunteering for The Listening Ear, a 24/7 crisis hotline in Lansing.
These experiences taught me that empathy, humor, and honesty are the foundation of real healing. Therapy isn’t just about solving problems—it’s about learning to understand yourself, accept what you can’t change, and grow in ways that matter.
❤️ Why I Love This Work
There’s nothing more rewarding than watching clients begin to believe in themselves again—to see them laugh more, connect more deeply, and start to feel lighter. I love helping people rediscover their resilience and realize that it’s okay to be both a work in progress and proud of how far they’ve come.
I bring my full, genuine self to every session because I want you to feel comfortable doing the same. Therapy with me is not about perfection—it’s about showing up, being real, and finding your strength in the process.
🌈 Outside the Office
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me watching horror movies (yes, I love the jump scares), camping under Michigan stars, or spending time with my many furry friends. I also have a passion for makeup artistry—it’s another form of creativity and self-expression that reminds me of the power of transformation.
At Ellie Mental Health in Novi, our mission is to make therapy feel real—relatable, human, and sometimes even a little fun. You don’t have to face your struggles alone. Together, we’ll create a plan that helps you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life again.
If you’re ready to take the next step, let’s get started. Schedule today, and let’s begin your journey toward healing and growth—with honesty, empathy, and maybe a little laughter along the way.
