About Caroline Chessick

Caroline M. Chessick is a dedicated mental health professional with over 10 years of experience delivering therapeutic services across diverse populations and settings. She holds a master’s degree in advanced clinical practice social work, with a concentration in Veteran and Military Social Work, from Saint Leo University. Caroline also earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Christopher Newport University and an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Thomas Nelson Community College. She is currently a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work under the supervision of Dr. Kenyuatia L. Gash, DSW, MSCJ, LCSW-A QS, BCD, MAC, ACSW, CCTP-II, and CEO.

Caroline’s clinical background includes working with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings: VA hospitals, hospice care, foster care, public schools (elementary through high school), acute inpatient and outpatient care, intensive in-home and mental health skill-building programs, intensive outpatient programs, addiction and substance use treatment, local and regional jails, probation services, grief support, and community-based voluntary services. She provides care through both in-person and virtual platforms.

Caroline integrates a broad range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities into her practice, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), including Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based and Person-Centered Approaches, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Body Movement Techniques, Relapse Prevention using the Disease Model of Addiction, Psychoeducation, Positive Psychology and Reframing, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Structural-Functional Family Therapy, and Culturally Competent Practice.
