About Brooke Gardner
Brooke has experience working with youth and adults facing a variety of challenges. Including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, difficult life transitions, and the unique experiences of youth preparing for emancipation. She believes that every person’s story is different and that therapy should be tailored to each individual.
Brooke earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and brings over four years of experience working in Animal Welfare. She is a Certified Veterinary Social Worker (VSW) and has a special interest in supporting individuals experiencing animal related grief and bereavement. Brooke also has experience supporting individuals living with dementia and their families as they navigate transitions into new housing and the difficult decisions that can arise when a beloved pet is part of the process.
Brooke primarily uses a client-centered approach, focusing on creating a space where clients can move at their own pace without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. She believes that meaningful progress does not have to happen all at once and that therapy should feel like a safe place to pause, process, and work through challenges one step at a time.
