About Audrey Hort
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate dedicated to supporting clients across the lifespan, with a particular passion for working with women navigating life transitions and women-specific concerns. I understand that these experiences can be complex and deeply personal, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and understood.
My work is grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, which I use to help clients build practical skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I also take a strengths-based approach, focusing on each client’s existing resilience and capacity for growth.
In addition to my work with adults, I have experience working with children using play therapy techniques that allow for developmentally appropriate expression and healing. I believe that creativity can be a powerful tool in the therapeutic process, and I enjoy integrating art and imaginative approaches to help clients explore their thoughts and emotions in a way that feels natural and engaging.
Whether working with children or adults, my goal is to foster a collaborative, affirming environment where clients can build insight, develop coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
