I have been in the mental health field for over 15 years, and have been a licensed therapist for over 10 years, having gone back to school after years of floating around the workforce in dead end jobs. I found my calling in the mental health field.
My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Person-Centered approaches. I received my MS in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and have completed all requirements to practice within the states within which I am licensed, which include Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. I am also Nationally Certified Counselor (NBCC). I have an AAS in Substance Abuse Counseling and am Certified to administer the SASSI, ASI and TASI substance abuse screeners. My passions in the field include working with mature women on life problems/aging/grief, and working with those struggling with Substance Abuse problems.
I have worked a great deal with older teens and adults who experience a variety of difficulties including ADHD, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorders, other behavioral problems and gender identity disorders. I take great pride in being inclusive and well informed as to the life difficulties that my clients are bringing with them into therapy.
I see clients in person or remotely, and am flexible as to scheduling appointments. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, baking (who doesn’t love a good chocolate chip cookie?), gardening, swimming and enjoying my pets.
