About Alexis Sylvia
Alexis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. Alexis was born and raised in Lee County and is excited to be a part of Ellie Mental Health in helping serve her community! She has experience helping clients with a wide variety of concerns, such as relationship issues, grief, trauma, substance use/addiction, anxiety, and depression. Alexis enjoys working with all ages and utilizes therapy techniques from Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. She has training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and utilizes those techniques in helping those who have experienced trauma heal.
On a personal note, Alexis loves animals and has four mischievous cats herself, Moon, Venus, Comet, and Nebula! In her spare time, Alexis enjoys gardening, playing video and board games, thrifting, and spending time with family and friends.
