About Alexis Beam
Alexis (Lexie) is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) graduate student at Wright State University, currently completing her practicum and internship. Lexie was drawn to the counseling profession by her passion for hearing people’s stories, understanding the experiences that shape who they are, and supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. She hopes to work with adolescents and adults ages 12 and older, providing a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and sharing their experiences. Lexie believes that counseling is about more than simply listening; it is about truly understanding each person’s unique perspective and helping them feel heard, valued, and supported.
Lexie takes a person-centered approach to counseling, recognizing that clients are the experts on their own lives and that meaningful growth begins with understanding and collaboration. Incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, she helps clients explore patterns of thinking and behavior, develop effective coping skills, and work toward personal growth, healing, and overall well-being. Her goal is to help each client feel understood and empowered as they navigate challenges and work toward positive change.
