Maddie’s interest in the mental health field began with exploring the connection between the mind and physical movement and their effects on overall well-being, as well as the importance of a positive self-concept. Throughout her career, she has primarily worked with Veterans to enhance their quality of life by addressing the lasting impacts of military service. Her experience includes working with adults ranging from age 18 to 96, addressing a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, life stage transitions, aging and disability, relationship challenges, substance abuse, and the effects of traumatic experiences on quality of life. Maddie understands that therapy is most effective when grounded in the client’s sense of comfort and trust. She often embraces the concept of “being comfortable with being uncomfortable,” prioritizing collaboration, rapport building, and a client-centered approach within the therapeutic process.
