Jacob Priddy, MSW

Outpatient Therapist

Hello, I am Jacob, and I am a therapist with Ellie Mental Health. I have been dedicated to the field of therapy for much of my life, starting as the “therapist friend” in my early educational years and continuing through obtaining my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Indiana University Bloomington.

I know therapy can be difficult to engage in, both from personal and others’ experiences, and I understand that the therapeutic relationship is one of the driving forces behind effective engagement. I have worked with a variety of populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, as well as in various mental health settings, including substance use counseling, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

I have supported individuals and families during life’s toughest moments and facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, anger management, gender identity, substance use, and various forms of trauma. Based on this experience, I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and client-centered environment where you feel comfortable discussing life’s challenges and stressors.

I practice from a trauma-informed lens, incorporating Motivational Interviewing, Systems Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, CBT, and DBT to help individuals recognize their strengths and meaningfully incorporate resilience and coping skills into their lives.

I am here to support you and again understand firsthand how stressful engaging in therapy can be. I aim to meet you where you are to work through and discuss what has brought you to therapeutic services, regardless of your race, gender, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, spirituality, ability, or intersectionalities. This is a space where you can be your truest, most authentic self as you work through life’s ups and downs.

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family, my significant other, and our two cats, as well as engaging in hobbies such as pop culture, video games, and learning all manner of new things.
