Angela is a graduate of Fordham University with a Masters degree in Social Work. She has spent the majority of her career working in behavioral health inpatient settings caring for clients living with mental health challenges from mood, anxiety and substance use disorders to trauma, eating disorders, personality disorders and psychotic disorders. Over the course of her career she has utilized various treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Supportive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Angela had a previous career in Fine Art and has a Bachelors degree from Pratt Institute. She will occasionally utilize art therapy in treatment as a means for another form of expression.
Angela enjoys working with all adult populations living with mental health challenges or life transitions. She employs goal-oriented treatment where she and the client work together to create a treatment plan that is realistic and obtainable while exploring new and creative means of coping with life stressors. Angela is practical, motivated and committed to her clients and will challenge them to be their best selves. She is nonjudgmental and compassionate to the many struggles we all face over the course of our lifetime.
On a personal note, Angela is the mother of two adult children and has navigated all that parenting entails as well as being a caregiver to an elderly parent. Angela brings a wealth of life experience to her career as a therapist.
