Alex is an LPC Resident under the supervision of Christie Hennigan, LPC, LSATP, CSAC, NCC. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science from George Mason University.

With experience spanning depression, anxiety, relationships, PTSD, chronic pain, substance use, and weight management, Alex has developed a well-rounded approach to mental health care. He has a particular interest in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address binge eating behaviors and improve self-image. During his time with the National Suicide Chatline and Chesapeake Regional Hospital, Alex provided compassionate support to individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, further deepening his understanding of crisis intervention.

Alex believes in the power of collaboration and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and valued. Drawing from a person-centered, humanistic framework, he integrates CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based techniques to help clients work toward their goals. Alex’s genuine and positive demeanor empowers clients to regain a sense of control over life’s challenges, fostering growth and resilience.
