Hello! My name is Christopher Stevens, and I’m a licensed therapist at Ellie Mental Health. Originally from Springfield, Illinois, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2020 and my master’s degree in Human Development Counseling in 2023 from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and even fun environment where we can explore life’s challenges, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.
I enjoy helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Beyond addressing immediate challenges, I’m passionate about helping people connect what they learn about themselves to their values, passions, and sense of purpose. Much of my approach centers on developing self-acceptance, challenging unhelpful patterns, and discovering what it means to live a fulfilling and authentic life.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, intentional, and grounded in practical, realistic change. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy, and person-centered approaches, tailoring our work to what fits and makes sense for you. I believe meaningful growth often begins with a greater understanding of ourselves, and that therapy isn’t about becoming someone different, but learning how to live more fully as ourselves.
If the idea of understanding yourself better and creating the life you want excites you, let’s get to work!
