Hello, I’m Kyle. I’m a Licensed Professional Therapist Associate supervised by Charlsa Placker LPC-S. I have 14 years of experience in the mental health field, much of that in psychiatric research. I have worked with adults dealing with depression, PTSD, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. As an existential therapist, it is my goal to help people live their best, most genuine lives.
I am also a six-year veteran of the US Navy. As a veteran, I have a unique understanding of the difficulties that come with military service – not just the trauma, but also the challenges associated with transitioning back into civilian life. By using a variety of cognitive and dialectical techniques, I provide a tailored plan to help veterans and first responders deal with the lingering effects of trauma. I believe that trauma is something that informs who we are, but does not have to define who we are.
I hold a Master of Science in Applied Anthropology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Amberton University. In my spare time, I enjoy riding a bicycle, collecting Swatch watches, and being on and in the water. I live with my long-time partner Carly, a precocious rabbit, and a mischievous cat.
