Fawnda is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. As a non-traditional student, Fawnda began her social work career later in life, which she feels has allowed her to bring a unique and enriched perspective to her practice. Over the past three years, she has worked with individuals of all ages facing substance use disorders, complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.
Fawnda’s therapeutic approach emphasizes trauma-informed care and empowerment-focused therapy utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic approach that helps individuals achieve balance and harmony within their internal system so that they feel more integrated, confident, and alive, leading to an increase in mental well-being. Fawnda also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a talk-based therapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns. Fawnda is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences.
