About Lynn Downs
Lynn Downs is a mental health therapist with Ellie Mental Health Manassas who works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), trauma, and other life challenges. She is especially passionate about supporting women who have experienced intimate partner violence, as well as individuals with autism and their families.
Lynn offers both in-person and virtual therapy, serving clients in Manassas, Prince William County, and surrounding Northern Virginia communities, as well as providing telehealth therapy to clients throughout Virginia. She tailors therapy to each client, drawing from approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy.
Lynn believes clients are the experts on their own lives. She sees her role as walking alongside them—providing a compassionate and trusting space while offering practical tools, support, and guidance. Her goal is to help clients build resilience, navigate difficult experiences, and move toward a healthier and more meaningful life.
Lynn earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in December 2025 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University.
Outside of the therapy room, Lynn enjoys reading and spending time at the beach with her family, especially her seven grandchildren.
