You’ve been holding it together for everyone else. What about you?
Life can be complicated. Sometimes, the hardest part isn’t knowing something feels wrong—it’s figuring out how to talk about it, where to start, or whether anyone will truly understand. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating a difficult relationship, feeling disconnected from yourself, or carrying experiences you’ve never felt comfortable sharing. You may have spent so much time being strong for everyone else that you’ve forgotten you deserve support, too.
You don’t have to have it all figured out to start therapy. And you don’t have to do it alone.
I’m Dee Haddad, MA, LLPC, a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor at Ellie Mental Health in West Bloomfield. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, gender dysphoria, and major life transitions. My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
Your Story Matters. All of It.
Your mental health is shaped by your culture, family, relationships, faith, values, and life experiences. Balancing these influences with your own emotional needs can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be navigating family expectations, cultural pressures, identity questions, or experiences that are difficult to explain.
I believe you deserve a therapist who respects your background and makes room for every part of who you are. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, spiritual sensitivity, and respect for each person’s unique experiences. I welcome individuals from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Fluent in English, Arabic, and Chaldean, I understand how meaningful it can be to express yourself in the language that feels most natural. I want you to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without worrying about being misunderstood.
Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because there’s no one-size-fits-all experience of being human. Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, healing from past experiences, working through grief, rebuilding confidence, or navigating a major life change, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening and explore what may help.
My approach is integrative, person-centered, and trauma-informed, incorporating evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed strategies. I also draw on psychodynamic approaches to explore how past experiences and relationships may influence your present.
Therapy is a collaborative process. We’ll explore what’s important to you, recognize your strengths, and develop practical strategies that fit your life. This may include managing difficult emotions, understanding old patterns, setting healthier boundaries, or making choices that better reflect who you are.
You Don’t Have to Carry the Past Alone
Trauma, grief, painful relationships, and unresolved emotions can affect how you see yourself, connect with others, and respond to everyday challenges. You may find yourself repeating patterns you don’t understand, struggling to trust, or feeling weighed down by experiences you rarely discuss.
In therapy, we’ll create space to explore these experiences at a pace that feels comfortable. You won’t be expected to share everything at once or have all the answers. My trauma-informed approach emphasizes compassion, collaboration, and respect for your readiness. Together, we can work toward greater self-understanding, healthier coping strategies, and emotional well-being.
A Space Where You Can Be Yourself
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re used to managing everything on your own or have had experiences that made it difficult to trust. It’s okay to feel uncertain. You don’t need a clear goal or a perfectly organized story to begin.
I strive to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly, explore difficult feelings, and be met with empathy. We’ll identify what matters most to you and take meaningful steps toward the life you want to build.
Therapy isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about understanding yourself, honoring your experiences, and finding new ways to move forward.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, seeking healing, navigating identity or relationship challenges, or simply ready to prioritize your well-being, you deserve support that respects who you are.
You’ve spent enough time carrying everything on your own. Let’s make room for you, too.
