Life can be difficult at times, and we all need someone to talk to without judgment. Kaitlyn’s approach to therapy involves developing a strong therapeutic relationship based on openness and honesty. Kaitlyn likes to bring a fun, modern twist to therapy and views themselves as an eclectic therapist. Therapy with Kaitlyn is designed to specifically meet the needs of the client and will utilize techniques from different theories to best meet the client’s needs. Kaitlyn utilizes a lot of feminist theory in her approach to therapy, which looks at societal influences/impacts on mental health. Kaitlyn also tends to pull from cognitive-behavioral theory and dialectical behavioral theory.
Kaitlyn’s been passionate about helping people since a young age and has wanted to be a therapist for most of her life. Kaitlyn utilizes clinical knowledge as well as life experience to inform how she practices. Kaitlyn feels that therapy can be beneficial for all people, as we all need someone to talk to without feeling judged. Kaitlyn is dedicated to utilizing humor and creative solutions to help deal with everything that life can throw at people. Kaitlyn hopes to break the stigma of attending therapy and showcase the benefits through a more modern and fun approach. Kaitlyn is passionate about working with her clients to help them understand their emotions and their self-worth, and to understand that progress is progress.
The therapy journey with Kaitlyn allows the client to take the reins and be a part of how they want their healing journey to go. Kaitlyn starts off the therapy process by focusing on building a trusting relationship with the client and getting to know them before diving deep. Therapy with Kaitlyn will include a lot of support and validation, some “wacky” solutions, a lot of laughs, a listening ear, and many Inside Out references.
Outside of being a therapist, Kaitlyn finds joy in spending time with her cat, reading novels, engaging in various hobbies, spending time with friends and family, watching TV/movies, and cooking. Some of Kaitlyn’s favorite media include Marvel Movies, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Throne of Glass, Schitt’s Creek, Criminal Minds, and Inside Out 1 & 2. A few of Kaitlyn’s hobbies include crocheting, playing piano, reading, and playing games.
