Hello! I’m Elise, and I am glad you are considering therapy. I have found that it is invaluable for individuals to feel heard and seen, and I hope to provide a therapeutic space for that to happen. I work with individuals 15+ who are navigating women’s issues, the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, and varying mental health concerns. I have experience working with women experiencing a variety of worries and concerns, as well as individuals with complex trauma histories who are looking to feel safe and more whole.
I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Auburn University and am practicing as a National Certified Counselor. I have training in trauma-focused interventions and have conducted research on polyvagal-informed therapeutic techniques. In my work, I incorporate somatic techniques to help regulate the nervous system and utilize Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, and play therapy to help identify and understand difficult patterns and cycles you may find yourself in.
I believe that therapy is a brave and difficult step that can hold so much reward and healing. My approach is deeply empathetic, understanding, and encouraging. My hope is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to explore the difficult parts of your story and begin moving toward healing that feels holistic, meaningful, and lasting.
