Starting therapy can feel uncertain, especially if you’re not quite sure where to begin. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed by a season of change, therapy can be a place to slow down, feel supported, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying.
Hi, I’m Keerthi Iswaran Suresh, a master’s-level Clinical Psychology intern at Benedictine University. I work with children, teens, and adults, and my style is calm, warm, creative, and collaborative. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself while exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe therapy is a partnership. You bring your experiences, strengths, values, and knowledge of your own life, and I’m here to help you build on those strengths while developing new tools for growth. I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all path to healing, so I tailor our work to your unique needs and goals.
My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship concerns, self-esteem and self-worth, stress, and life transitions. I’m especially passionate about supporting trauma survivors, including individuals impacted by sexual abuse, as well as children and teens navigating divorce, separation, or major family changes.
My approach integrates CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, person-centered and strengths-based therapy, along with play and creative art-based interventions. With younger clients, creativity can help make emotions easier to express when words feel hard to find. With teens and adults, we may use a blend of reflection, coping skills, and practical strategies to support meaningful change.
I am fluent in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu and value working with clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I strive to provide culturally responsive care that honors each person’s identity, values, family experiences, and perspective.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy painting, reading, and learning about different cultures. Creativity is something I naturally bring into my work, especially when it helps clients explore emotions or see a challenge from a new perspective.
My hope is that you leave therapy feeling heard, understood, and more confident in your ability to navigate life’s challenges. Together, we can build greater self-awareness, resilience, and coping skills while creating space for healing and meaningful growth.
