Hi, I’m Sushmita. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported without judgment. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative environment where you can explore challenges, better understand yourself, and work toward meaningful growth at your own pace.
I have experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from early childhood through older adulthood, as they navigate the many transitions and challenges that can arise at different stages of life. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation challenges, academic and career stress, interpersonal concerns, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting young adults as they navigate identity development, relationships, independence, career decisions, and the uncertainty that can come with entering new stages of adulthood.
My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive. I draw from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed strategies, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, tailoring therapy to each person’s needs, strengths, and goals. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and that meaningful progress begins with a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients feel respected and understood.
My experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds has deepened my belief in the importance of understanding each person within the context of their unique experiences, values, relationships, and stage of life. I also speak Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada, allowing me to provide culturally responsive support to clients and families who feel more comfortable communicating in these languages.
I strive to bring warmth, empathy, and openness to every session while gently encouraging self-awareness, resilience, and healthy coping. Whether you are adjusting to school, navigating relationships or career changes, experiencing changes within your family, adapting to aging or changing roles, or simply feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about what comes next, I would be honored to walk alongside you through the process.
