About Susan Taylor

About Dr. Susan Taylor

I’m a seasoned psychotherapist and author of Stop Anxiety Now: Take Control of Your Life With the GAIN CONTROL Method, with over 25 years of helping adults move through anxiety, stress, worry, and life’s hardest transitions. My work is grounded in clinical training but equally shaped by lived experience. I know firsthand what it takes to face crippling anxiety and come out the other side.

I’m Susan Taylor, DBH, LMSW, and I’ve spent more than three decades helping adults across Michigan break free from the grip of anxiety, panic, and chronic worry. My approach draws from mind–body therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) to uncover the fears driving your anxiety and help you build real calm, not temporary relief.

I understand anxiety not just as a clinician, but as someone who’s been there. That experience fuels my no-nonsense, grounded approach to therapy—authentic, steady, and focused on what actually works. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm energy, straight talk, and how therapy with me feels like a genuine partnership, not a performance.

I offer telehealth sessions for adults anywhere in Michigan, providing flexibility and privacy so you can focus on what matters most: getting your life back.
