About Allyson Borkowicz
My name is Allyson Borkowicz, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and develop a healthy balance between mind and body. I provide trauma-informed care for clients ages 4 and up, creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and healing.
My areas of focus include trauma, mood disorders, addictions, developmental concerns, autism, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and psychosis, among others. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and drawing from multiple therapeutic modalities to support meaningful change.
I have additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am a Clinically Certified Trauma Professional, which enhances my ability to help clients process and heal from past experiences. I also offer Christian counseling upon request.
I also have training in Somatic Therapy, PolyVagal Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Christian Counseling upon request.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
