Patrice is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor. Patrice has over 30 years of experience working with clients in recovery or struggling with active addiction, people dealing with the effects of trauma, and those looking for support in managing intense emotions and navigating difficult relationships and life transitions.
As a seasoned therapist, Patrice is strengths-based and warm but direct. She utilizes Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, IFS, CBT, DBT and works from a trauma-informed and person-centered approach. Patrice has experience working in a variety of settings and with diverse populations including pregnant and postpartum women, adults experiencing homelessness, folks in active addiction and those recovering from substance abuse, and adults involved in the criminal justice system.
Patrice believes that acceptance and respect are the foundation for a successful therapeutic relationship. To that end, Patrice works to identify your goals for therapy, then works with you to map out the steps to reach those goals. Sessions with Patrice are psychoeducational in nature, allowing time to share and process recent experiences, while sharing knowledge and information from her own experience and outside resources. Humor is used often and there is always talk of hope.
Patrice was born and raised in the mountains of western North Carolina. When not working, she enjoys music, movies and being near the water.
