Hi, I’m Shu (pronounced Sue)! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) with my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. I believe that healing is cultivated in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space, and I aim to foster a supportive environment where clients feel heard and empowered along their mental health journey.
You may be the person others rely on—the one trying to keep it together while struggling internally. Perhaps you overthink, struggle to set boundaries, people-please, or feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, ADHD, relationship stress, identity exploration, or major life transitions, I aim to create a space that allows you to slow down, gain clarity, and feel more connected to your authentic self. I connect well with college students & adults who are thoughtful, motivated, and ready to engage more intentionally in their growth process. They may already have insight into their patterns but want support translating that awareness into meaningful, lasting change. I also enjoy supporting clients interested in integrating spirituality and faith into the healing process.
I view therapy as a collaborative space where we become “emotion scientists” together—curiously exploring your internal world with compassion rather than judgment. Instead of seeing emotions as problems to get rid of, we work toward understanding them as important signals that provide information about your needs, experiences, relationships, and values. My approach is direct, relational, culturally responsive, and grounded in a person-centered framework while incorporating elements of CBT, ACT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (Parts Work) and EMDR. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also offer walk-and-talk therapy for clients who may benefit from processing through movement or being outside. Whether in or out of the office, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe to reflect and reconnect with yourself in meaningful ways.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with curiosity, compassion, and authenticity while helping you build a healthier relationship with yourself and your emotions, I’d be honored to support you.
