Allison is highly empathic, down to earth, and a strong believer in the “medicinal” properties of humor. This helps her to create a space that feels safe, warm, and nonjudgmental for people with all kinds of backgrounds and concerns. Her greatest clinical strengths lie in working with anxiety and OCD, depression, & teens and young adults. Other areas of focus include general stress and life transitions, self-esteem and identity work, premarital counseling, and supporting LGBTQ+ clients’ overall mental health. Allison uses a systemic perspective that is trauma-informed and personalized to each client, drawing from an array of clinical approaches (including CBT, DBT, ERP, mindfulness, and solution-focus). Allison completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Rhodes College and her Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy at The Family Institute at Northwestern. She has had extensive experience in both private practice and PHP/IOP settings.
