“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
Hi, my name is Rebecca Tejada. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate working under the supervision of Dr. Tiffany Chaney LPC-S, PSC. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Adelphi University in 2021, and then moved on to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2025.
I completed my clinical internship at a private practice, where I worked with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress and more. This experience allowed me to strengthen my clinical skills and refine my therapeutic approach while supporting clients through a variety of challenges.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered. Together, we work as a team to identify goals, build on strengths, and develop the tools needed to support lasting mental and emotional well-being. Because no two people experience life’s challenges in the same way, I believe therapy should be personalized. I tailor my therapeutic approach by integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices to best support each client’s unique needs and personal journey.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, navigating a life transition, or simply looking for support, you don’t have to face it alone. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful growth and healing. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey. When you’re ready, let’s connect and start the conversation.
