Kathleen is outpatient clinician and lifelong learner who believes that meaningful growth occurs at the intersection of curiosity, connection, and courage. She brings more than two decades of experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, coaching, and operations to her counseling practice, providing clients with a unique blend of practical problem-solving skills, deep empathy, and a strong belief in each person’s capacity for growth and change.
Kathleen’s journey into counseling was driven by a desire to support individuals in creating lives that feel more authentic, connected, and aligned with their values. Throughout her career, she has helped people navigate transitions, overcome obstacles, develop confidence, and identify pathways forward. Today, she brings that same passion into the therapy room, creating a collaborative environment where clients can safely explore challenges, gain insight, and build meaningful change.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and strengths-based interventions. Kathleen recognizes that no single approach fits every person or situation. Instead, she works collaboratively with clients to understand their unique experiences, identify their strengths, and tailor interventions that best support their goals.
Kathleen believes that clients are the experts in their own lives. Rather than positioning herself as someone who has all the answers, she approaches therapy as a partnership built on trust, authenticity, and mutual respect. She strives to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, challenged, and supported. Her style is warm, conversational, curious, and direct when appropriate. Clients often appreciate her ability to balance empathy with practical tools and actionable strategies.
Kathleen works with adolescents (15-19) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship challenges, stress, burnout, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, and personal growth. She also enjoys helping clients navigate periods of uncertainty, whether related to career changes, family dynamics, major life decisions, or questions about purpose and direction. Her background in coaching allows her to help clients move beyond insight alone and translate awareness into meaningful action.
As a clinician, Kathleen is particularly interested in helping clients understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and values. She believes that healing often begins when people develop greater self-awareness, learn to respond to themselves with compassion, and identify the patterns that no longer serve them. Together, she and her clients work to increase emotional flexibility, strengthen coping skills, challenge limiting beliefs, and build lives that reflect what matters most to them.
One of Kathleen’s core beliefs is that people are remarkably resilient. Even when individuals feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves, she believes there is often wisdom, strength, and hope beneath the surface waiting to be rediscovered. Her goal is to help clients reconnect with those strengths while developing practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Outside of counseling, Kathleen has a deep love of travel, cultural exploration, and lifelong learning. She has found that experiencing different places, traditions, and perspectives continually reinforces a simple but profound truth: people are people. Regardless of culture, background, belief system, or life experience, most individuals share a common desire for connection, belonging, purpose, understanding, and hope. These experiences have shaped her worldview and strengthened her commitment to approaching every client with humility, curiosity, and respect.
Travel has also taught Kathleen the value of listening before assuming, seeking understanding before judgment, and remaining open to perspectives different from her own. These lessons inform her counseling work every day. She recognizes that each client arrives with a unique story, and she considers it a privilege to walk alongside them as they explore challenges, celebrate successes, and create meaningful change.
Whether a client is seeking support during a difficult season, working through long-standing patterns, processing grief, improving relationships, managing anxiety or depression, or simply exploring what comes next, Kathleen is passionate about helping people uncover their strengths, navigate complexity, and create lives that feel authentic, purposeful, and connected. She believes that growth is rarely about becoming someone different; rather, it is about becoming more fully yourself.
