Veronica Chavarria (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW). She graduated from Rutgers University, where she also completed the Addiction Counseling Training (ACT) Program through Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies and School of Social Work. Veronica is a Certified Clinical Supervisor and Certified School Social Worker, specializes in working with children and adolescents, and has practiced as a clinician in a wide variety of clinical settings such as Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient, In-Home Counseling (IIC), and school-based for 10 years. She has extensive experience in crisis management, school clearances, safety planning, chemical dependency, and collaborating with the Child Study Team and Guidance Department in schools to ensure the youth’s needs are being met via 504 planning and IEPs. Veronica uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation techniques to help clients cope with signs and symptoms of trauma, generalized/social/separation anxiety, depression, panic, mood instability, stress, disruptive behaviors, grief, ADHD, psychosis, autism, and substance/alcohol abuse. Veronica is Spanish-speaking and enjoys meeting clients individually as well as with their families. She believes all clients should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
