Sushmita Bharadwaj, Masters in Clinical Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling

Therapist

Hi, I’m Sushmita. I believe therapy should be a space where people feel safe, heard, and supported without judgment. My goal is to create a collaborative and compassionate environment where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful personal growth.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in mental health and federal employment settings. My background includes individual and group counseling support, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and working with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation challenges, academic and career stress, interpersonal concerns, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting young adults and individuals navigating change, identity development, and emotional challenges.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive. I integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-informed techniques, mindfulness strategies, and psychoeducation into sessions based on each client’s individual needs and goals.

I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I value building authentic therapeutic relationships that help clients feel empowered and understood.

As someone who has interacted with individuals from many different communities and cultural backgrounds, I value inclusivity, empathy, and understanding the unique experiences each client brings into the therapy space. Clients can expect me to be warm, approachable, collaborative, and supportive while also encouraging growth, self-awareness, and healthy coping strategies.

I am passionate about mental health advocacy, increasing access to care, and helping individuals build confidence and resilience in their daily lives. I hope to support clients in feeling more connected to themselves, their strengths, and their goals throughout the counseling process.
