Sunny Barkley, MSW, LGSW

Sunny is a warm and compassionate therapist focused on providing a brave space for adolescents to process their emotions and take a deep breath. Going beyond a safe space, brave spaces allow us to take risks in a supportive environment that values vulnerability. The world we live in can be a scary place and there are innumerable new stressors and anxieties facing today’s children; Sunny works with clients and their families to explore these emotions in age-appropriate ways, using art, music, play, humor, mindfulness, and other strategies to help them feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Having worked with youth and young adults in a variety of settings, Sunny uses a creative lens to tailor their treatment methods to the needs of each client. As a member of the queer community, Sunny is also passionate about improving and providing access to care for queer and trans youth and offers individual and family services for clients exploring their various identities.

Outside of the office, Sunny enjoys playing their ukulele, going on dog walks with their spouse, and hosting trivia around the Twin Cities!
