Steve is a Licensed Social Worker and is currently a Graduate Student in the Health Communication Program at the University of Illinois. Steve received his Undergraduate and Graduate Degree in Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University. Steve is a retired Navy veteran that served in multiple theaters including three tours to the Persian Gulf. Steve has experience working with veterans, elderly, adults, and adolescents centered around a trauma-informed, person-centered, strength-based approaches treating depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, and other traumas using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) while incorporating sound mindfulness practices and techniques. He enjoys working with veterans, adolescents, young adults, adults, and the LGBTQ community while building a trusted and respected relationship with all his clients. In his free time, Steve firmly believes in personal self-care while hanging out with his 2 dogs, 2 cats, writing poetry, gardening in the spring and summer time, listening to 80s music and spending time with his partner.
