Steven Jacobs is a Licensed Social Worker who focuses on working with older teens (15-18) and adults aged 18 and over. Steven brings extensive experience working within a community mental health outpatient setting, helping clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, complex PTSD, serious mental illnesses, anger and addiction issues. Steven has experience working with diverse populations including veterans and their families, LGBTQ+ individuals, older teens and seniors.

Steven’s approach is client-centered and solution-focused. He utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and ACT. Drawing from Rogerian Theory, Steven believes individuals have a natural tendency to grow and fulfill their full potential. Steven encourages empowerment through communication as a means of helping clients seek, develop and achieve solutions in their lives.

Steve studied English and Criminal Justice, earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis. He gained valuable experience working as a paralegal and assistant to a forensic psychiatrist who mentored and encouraged him to earn his Masters Degree in Social Work from Indiana University, with a concentration in mental health and addictions.
