Watching your child face mental health challenges can be heartbreaking. As a parent yourself, you want nothing more than to fix it for them — and the truth is, when one family member is struggling, the whole family feels it. That’s why I work with the whole picture: from the youngest children to the adults who love and guide them.
Working with children and teens has been a lifelong passion of mine. I became a counselor to walk alongside young people who are struggling, because no one should ever feel isolated in that experience. Watching a child’s self-esteem grow as they discover what they’re truly capable of never gets old. And I’ve found that supporting the adults in their lives — parents, caregivers, and individuals navigating their own challenges — is just as meaningful.
I provide a space where clients of all ages can express themselves freely, without judgment, and feel genuinely cared for. For children, one of the ways I do that is through play therapy — an approach I find especially powerful because it allows them to process their emotions in the way they know best. Play is their natural language, and it’s a meaningful way for them to navigate their feelings and experiences. For adults, I offer that same nonjudgmental space, tailored to where you are in your own story.
My counseling approach is eclectic with a narrative base. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and from there, I tailor my approach to your situation and your goals. I use both directive and non-directive play therapy depending on what will be most beneficial for younger clients, and I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities for adults. I work with ages 2 and up. I specialize in anxiety, depression, divorce, ADHD, autism, and grief — across all ages and stages of life.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical and School Counseling from Denver Seminary and my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Grand Canyon University. Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs, cats, and horses. I also love movies, reading, and crocheting — my latest obsession.
