Sarah is a compassionate therapist who believes in the importance of mental health. Sarah acknowledges that sometimes the hardest part of getting better is starting the process, and she strives to radiate kindness and empathy in her therapeutic space.
Sarah graduated from the University of Minnesota in the counselor education program with an emphasis on clinical mental health counseling. As a clinician, Sarah’s theoretical orientation stems from cognitive behavioral and person-centered approaches. She utilizes a non-directive counseling style in order to create a space in which the client is the main focus of the session, while paying close attention to how maladaptive thoughts may be influencing their behaviors. Past experiences for Sarah include both mental health and career counseling settings. These past opportunities have enabled Sarah to work with varying ailments, including clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and substance abuse, as well as coping with career challenges. Sarah also worked extensively with child and adolescent intensive outpatient groups in which she taught coping skills for mental health symptoms, and ran process groups for children and teens. Sarah enjoys working with all ages, and believes that everyone deserves to have their opportunity to be genuinely heard and treated with kindness.
