Sarah Abelson, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor deeply committed to guiding individuals of all ages towards emotional well-being and personal growth. At the core of her therapeutic approach lies empathy, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to openly express their thoughts and feelings, empowering them through treatment. Sarah utilizes genuine understanding and validation, combined with an integrative approach, to collaboratively explore emotions, unearth insights, and develop strategies for positive change.

With a comprehensive educational background, Sarah holds multiple degrees, including a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a concentration in School Psychology, both from The College of Saint Rose. Her education, combined with over 10 years of experience in the field of behavioral health, positions her to offer effective, evidence-based therapy.

Sarah’s areas of expertise encompass a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, behavioral issues, learning disabilities, life transitions, and relationship issues. She has also supported individuals and families facing challenges such as cancer, chronic illness, and grief. In collaboration with her clients, Sarah works to identify their goals, actively collaborates on techniques and strategies, and celebrates their progress along their unique journey to well-being.
