Rob Marshall, MSW

Therapist

Rob earned his Bachelor’s degree at New York University and his Master’s degree at George Mason University, both majoring in Social Work. Rob has experience working with adolescents, adults, and families struggling with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. He also has a special focus on trauma, using strategies of psychodynamic therapy, psychoeducation, DBT, and CBT to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of their symptoms while learning how to cope with them.

Rob will also implement elements of inner child work as a method toward self-growth and self-care. When Rob works with youth, he not only advocates for them, but also devotes care and patience into understanding the entire family dynamic in order to rebuild and strengthen connections.

Rob believes in normalizing parental support in understanding certain aspects of their childrens’ needs. He has experience working with the LGBTQ+ population. Rob has experience with individuals of high risk and severe symptoms in intensive programs such as IOP, PHP, and residential care. Therefore, he empathizes with those struggling with distressing thoughts or destructive behavior; he appreciates the destructive power of shame/guilt those habits can bring and aims to help empower clients to conquer it. Rob’s goal is to create a safe space where those issues can be explored without judgement and at the client’s pace.

In his leisure time, Rob enjoys weight training and helping others live healthier, having over 10 years of experience as a fitness coach. He is also a self-proclaimed part-time geek of comic books and anime/manga.
