Therapist

Therapy isn’t just about surviving—it’s about reclaiming your space, your voice, and your sense of self. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with support, authenticity, direct feedback, and fierce advocacy for your strengths, you’re in the right place.

I’m River (they/them), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker passionate about walking alongside clients who are navigating complex emotions, identity exploration, healing from trauma, and building a life that actually feels like their own. I believe therapy is an active, collaborative process. When you come into my space, we are stepping onto the edge of change together—and pushing forward with intention, honesty, and a lot of hope.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, caregiver trauma, neurodivergence, sexual orientation exploration, self-esteem, self-harm, suicidality, and interpersonal relationship challenges. I’m particularly passionate about gender exploration, gender-affirming care, gender dysphoria, transition support, and helping clients leave abusive or toxic relationships. I also support clients struggling with school refusal, navigating IEPs, and managing the impact of systemic oppression on mental health.

I work with tweens, teens, young adults, and adults who are ready to engage in meaningful change. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, immigrants, or parents of queer kids, and I hold deep respect for the layered experiences that shape identity, belonging, and resilience.

In our work together, you can expect a mix of strength-based approaches, CBT, DBT, ACT, expressive therapy, somatic interventions, trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, relational work, and narrative therapy. We might talk, reflect, get creative, move, or sit in quiet moments of honesty—whatever serves your healing and growth. Therapy with me isn’t a passive experience; it’s a dynamic partnership where your truth, autonomy, and power are always centered.

My hope is that you walk away from therapy with a stronger sense of self-worth, deeper self-trust, and tools you actually use in daily life. Whether it’s finding your voice, setting boundaries, learning to regulate emotions, or choosing the direction you want to move toward, you’ll leave with a clearer connection to who you are—and who you are becoming. Above all, I believe in the radical act of self-compassion and in the possibility of hope, even when it feels out of reach. Therapy can be a space where you reconnect with that hope, sharpen your clarity, and build a life that is aligned with your truth—not someone else’s expectations.

You don’t have to have all the answers to begin. You don’t have to have it all together. You just have to be willing to show up—and together, we’ll figure out the rest.
