Regina McKenna, MSW/LCSW

Therapist

I am a licensed certified social worker in Massachusetts committed to providing quality care and treatment for individuals ranging from 21-60, coping with mental health issues such as interpersonal violence, sexual violence, post-traumatic stress disorder, stress, grief/loss, complex family situations, and general anxiety issues. I have a background as an early childhood professional assisting caregivers of young children ages 3-6 concerned with their child meeting developmental milestones, Autism concerns, and adjustment.
I utilize a mixture of eclectic therapy approaches depending on the age and cultural background of my client. It can range from behavior modification techniques, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and/or Brief Therapies. Each is attuned to the client’s perspective and treatment goals. When a client feels respected, open, and most importantly, comfortable, that will lay the foundation for our work together. I believe validating your lived experience, examining the disturbance, the impact it has on your well-being, identifying what has been going well, and areas of growth will potentially reduce further distress and develop healthier coping strategies to move forward.
I graduated from Springfield College with a master’s degree in social work, with an emphasis on the mind-body experience. I’m currently working towards my independent licensure. When I’m not offering therapy, I enjoy nature walks in wooded areas, being by the water, and traveling.
