Mia (she/her) is a compassionate and authentic clinician who approaches each session with a client-centered and trauma-sensitive approach. Mia is easy-going, and often uses humor, creativity and relatable conversations during her work as a therapist. She cares about each of her clients as the unique individuals that they are. Mia strives to foster a sense of belonging by providing a safe, affirming, supportive space where clients feel heard, seen and understood. Mia specializes in trauma work, but provides therapy for a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, anger management, foster care, adoption and life transitions. Mia is especially passionate in social justice and working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, holding space while they navigate a journey toward self-love and living their truth. Mia earned her Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville. She holds a certification in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. She is licensed to provide therapy in both Kentucky and Ohio. Mia has experience in providing treatment to children, adolescents, adults and families in various clinical settings including community mental health, day treatment, foster care, school-based and skilled nursing facilities. Outside of the office, Mia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. As a true Taurus, she enjoys down time – whether that’s just decompressing by reading a good book or doing restorative yoga. She also enjoys traveling, live music and true-crime podcasts.
