Supervising Therapist

Dr. Kirby is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a PhD in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University.

Dr. Kirby has experience providing clinical therapy to a variety of individuals, particularly adolescents and young adults in various settings within the community, schools, inpatient, and outpatient settings. She works from a trauma informed, strengths-based, solution-focused approach; assisting and supporting those experiencing anxiety, depression, life adjustments, relationship challenges, and self-esteem issues. In addition to therapy Dr. Kirby has been employed as a faculty member at both Texas Woman’s University and the University of Texas Arlington teaching Diversity, African-American studies, and Clinical Therapy. Dr. Kirby enjoys spending time with her children, watching anime, attending anime conventions, and cosplaying.
